
ICLS CLINICAL RESEARCH TEAM
The Centre for Clinical Trials by ICLS is actively involved in helping bring new medical therapies to the dermatology and plastic surgery fields by participating in a variety of clinical research studies.
ICLS is a private, fully accredited, state-of-the-art dermatology and plastic surgery facility located in Oakville, Ontario, directed and overseen by our medical Dermatologist, Dr. Sheetal Sapra and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Julie Khanna. Our doctors strongly believe that being on the forefront of medical research is an important part of their respective practices.


Sheetal Sapra, MD FRCPC, Director of Dermatology
Dr. Sapra is not only a leader in the field of dermatology, but he is also a pioneer of new technologies aimed at improving the lives and looks of his patients. Julie Khanna, MD FRCSC, Director of Plastic Surgery

Jenn Tran
Clinical Research Manager
Jenn joined the ICLS team in 2019 after graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She started her research career in the field of Hematology and has thrived in her transition into Dermatology.
After excelling in the Research Assistant and then Research Coordinator roles, Jenn is now responsible for overseeing and expanding the operations of the Clinical Trials department as the Clinical Research Manager. Jenn's focus is to provide the best care possible. Whether it be opportunities for growth and support for her team or for patients by advancing medicine through new exciting trials.
Outside of research, Jenn is passionate about advocating for cultural education, philanthropy, and leadership development in her community. In her downtime, Jenn loves going to Spin class, trying new restaurants, and playing board games.

Shantel Lultschik
Clinical Research Coordinator

Shantel joined our ICLS research team in 2016 after graduating in 2015 from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) degree. Shantel has also worked in thoracic surgery and pediatrics research, and as a Rehabilitation Therapist for patients with acquired brain injuries.
Shantel has travelled with Dr. Sapra to Argentina and Belgium to present research papers. She loves spending time outdoors with her husband, cuddling with her two cats Elliott and Elsa, volunteering with the Winona Peach Festival, and learning to cook vegetarian meals.

Shirley Wong
Clinical Research Nurse

Shirley began her career in Dermatology in 2013 alongside Dr. Sapra. Recently she had the opportunity to broaden her knowledge by changing course and working with our Clinical Research Team as a Research Nurse. Shirley’s empathy and desire to help patients through new and upcoming studies makes this position an ideal fit.

Shirley enjoys being active, whether it be travelling, snowboarding in our Canadian winters or hiking with her two dogs, Murphy and Charley. She also enjoys some downtime for herself while indulging in her pottery, photography or sailing in the Caribbean.

Harmeet Gurm
Clinical Research Coordinator
After completing a Master of Science in the Medical Sciences, Harmeet joined the ICLS team to participate in the advancement of clinical research and knowledge in dermatology. Harmeet also has research experience in female reproductive health, immunology, and metabolism.
Outside of research, Harmeet enjoys volunteering within her community, serving as a member of an online magazine to make scientific findings more accessible to all, and biking.

Tamara Simic
Clinical Research Coordinator
After graduating as a Medical Laboratory Technician in 2013, Tamara entered the field of stem cell banking and research. She soon realized that her true passion lies in medical research and brought her experience to our Clinical Trials department with the goal of helping our patients find the best treatments available. In her role as a Clinical Research Coordinator, she provides genuine care and compassion for all her patients.
Tamara enjoys spending her days outside of the clinic with her family. Tamara has a thirst for travel and is a “certified true foodie” who’s always on the look out for the next best restaurant.

Avery Ketchabaw
Clinical Research Assistant
After studying health sciences and biotechnology, Avery started working in health care, with 5 years of medical background primarily in family practice. Avery has a passion for learning new things and beginning a career in research.
Avery loves going on walks, and spending time on the beach or at the cottage with her family. She also enjoys exploring new cafes and restaurants with friends.
