WHY PARTICIPATE IN A CLINICAL TRIAL?

Patients in clinical trials can play a more active role in their own health care, gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, and help others by contributing to medical research.

Benefits of participating in a clinical research trial include:

  • Access to possible alternative treatments

  • Regular health monitoring (expert medical care and attention)

  • Knowing that you are taking part in the advancement of medical research

  • Taking an active role in your health care

  • No cost associated with investigational treatments

Choosing to participate in a clinical trial is an important personal decision. At The Centre for Clinical Trials, we maintain the strictest patient confidentiality and privacy at all times. Participants can expect to receive the most comprehensive care and attention from the overseeing physician, as well as our highly skilled and knowledgeable clinical trials team. Our Clinical Research Coordinators will be your first line of contact with any questions about our trials.

Each study varies by skin concern or indication, study length, and eligibility factors. Review our available studies list and Frequently Asked Questions, then talk with your doctor, family members, or friends about deciding to join a study.

When you're ready, we are here to address any questions you may have about participating in a clinical trial.

CONDITIONS WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR:

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss on the scalp, face, and sometimes other body areas, like under the arms or on the legs. People with alopecia areata most often lose hair in circular, coin-sized patches on the scalp, but in more severe cases, they may lose all of their hair.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disease that comes in several forms, but plaque psoriasis is the most common. Plaques are raised red patches covered with a whitish buildup of dead skins cells called scale. They usually show up on elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back, but they can appear anywhere. Plaques often itch or hurt.

WHAT PATIENTS SAY ABOUT THE CENTRE FOR CLINICAL TRIALS

"I have been patient of ICLS for the past four months as part of a clinical trial for Alopecia. This is my first experience being part of a clinical trial, and Dr. Sapra and his staff have been absolutely amazing. The staff here has made my first clinical trial more than comfortable and I thank them for giving me the opportunity to beat this disease. They have helped me gain back my confidence and I can't wait to see the rest of results. I have nothing but good things to say about ICLS and the clinical trial staff."

"It was great working with the girls. Everyone was really nice. Avery is very good with drawing blood like in all the clinics I've been to, she is the best. It never hurts, and she's quick with it."

"I attended ICLS for a clinical trial and I am very happy with my experience with the employees, especially my trial coordinator Tamara. You can really tell she cares about her patients and she was always very helpful. Thank you to Dr. Sapra as well, for checking in with me and helping to monitor the progress I made during the trial. The whole CT team have made a really welcoming environment for patients, and I am very grateful to have been in a trial conducted by these amazing people."
